If you want to be sure that your organization has a diverse workforce there are many things you can do, but at a minimum: 

  • Be sure the phrasing in all your communications highlights your commitment to diversity. 
  • Watch out for language uses that will lead qualified candidates to self-select out of a position they are well suited for. 
  • Look for diverse candidates where they can be found. (e.g. traditionally black colleges or in organizations devoted to serving veterans.)
